Bread and Butter Pudding
A classic British dessert that combines old bread, butter, and sugar to create a soft and crunchy pudding.

Ingredients
- 1 kg of old bread
- 200 g of sugar
- 200 g of butter
- 2 eggs
- 300 ml of milk
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- Baking powder (optional)
Method
- Cut the bread into cubes about 2 cm in size.
- In a large bowl, mix the butter, sugar, and eggs until you get a smooth mixture.
- Add the milk, vanilla extract, and baking powder (if using), stirring well.
- Dip the bread cubes into the butter and sugar mixture, making sure each piece is well coated.
- Place the bread in a baking dish to form a compact structure.
- Preheat the oven to 180°C and bake for about 40-45 minutes, until the pudding is golden and soft.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
