Basler Linsenklopse
This traditional Basler dish is a crispy lentil croquette with a delicious flavor, perfect for a family meal.

Ingredients
- 300g of lentils
- 2 eggs
- 100g of bread crumbs
- 1 onion
- 100g of bacon
- 50g of butter
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Oil for frying
Method
- Rinse and boil the lentils, then drain and let them cool.
- In a bowl, mix the lentils with the eggs, bread crumbs, chopped onion, chopped bacon, and salt and pepper to taste.
- Form small croquettes with the obtained mixture.
- Fry the croquettes in a pan with hot oil until they become crispy.
- Serve hot with soy sauce or tomato sauce.

Basler Linsenklopse were created as a way to use up surplus lentils, becoming a popular dish during periods of famine.
