Ingredients

  • 250 g of flour
  • 150 g of sugar
  • 100 g of almond flour
  • 100 g of brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 100 g of butter
  • 100 g of cocoa powder

Method

  1. Mix the flour, sugar, almond flour, and brown sugar in a bowl.
  2. Add the egg, vanilla extract, and butter, mixing well to form a homogeneous dough.
  3. Stir in the cocoa powder gently.
  4. Roll the dough into small balls and place them on a baking tray lined with baking paper.
  5. Make marks on each ball with a knife to create the lacy leckerli shape.
  6. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees and bake for 15-20 minutes, until golden.
  7. Allow to cool before serving.

The story

Leckerli were created in the 17th century in Basel, originally as Christmas sweets for children, but have become popular throughout the year-end festivities.
