Basler Leckerli
A traditional Swiss sweet, leckerli are crunchy and sweet biscuits with a unique flavor.

Ingredients
- 250 g of flour
- 150 g of sugar
- 100 g of almond flour
- 100 g of brown sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 100 g of butter
- 100 g of cocoa powder
Method
- Mix the flour, sugar, almond flour, and brown sugar in a bowl.
- Add the egg, vanilla extract, and butter, mixing well to form a homogeneous dough.
- Stir in the cocoa powder gently.
- Roll the dough into small balls and place them on a baking tray lined with baking paper.
- Make marks on each ball with a knife to create the lacy leckerli shape.
- Preheat the oven to 180 degrees and bake for 15-20 minutes, until golden.
- Allow to cool before serving.
The story
Leckerli were created in the 17th century in Basel, originally as Christmas sweets for children, but have become popular throughout the year-end festivities.
