Ingredients

  • 250g flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup milk
  • 4 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 200g fruit jam

Method

  1. In a large bowl, mix flour with baking powder and sugar.
  2. Add the egg and milk, stirring until you have a smooth batter. Let it rest for 30 minutes.
  3. Divide the dough into small balls about the size of an almond, then fill each one with approximately one teaspoon of jam.
  4. Seal the edges well and lightly flatten the balls to form flat discs.
  5. Fry in hot oil until golden brown, turning frequently for even cooking.
