Arroz Doce
Arroz Doce is a traditional Portuguese sweet made with rice, sugar, and seasonal fruits.

Ingredients
- 250 g of sweet rice
- 500 g of sugar
- 500 ml of water
- 1 lemon
- 100 g of almonds
- 50 g of hazelnuts
- 100 g of fresh cream
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla
Method
- Rinse the sweet rice and dry it well.
- In a pot, put the water, sugar, and lemon, bringing it to a boil.
- Add the rice and cook for about 15 minutes until it's soft.
- While the rice is cooking, chop the almonds and hazelnuts into small pieces.
- Once cooked, drain the rice and put it in a bowl, then add the almonds, hazelnuts, cream, and vanilla, mixing well.
- Let it cool and serve cold or warm.
The story
Arroz Doce has a history dating back to the 15th century, when the Portuguese began importing rice from other parts of the world and integrating it into their traditional sweets.
