  • 200 g of ackee
  • 100 g of cooked ham
  • 50 g of breadcrumbs
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon of black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • Oil for frying

Method

  1. Rinse and blanch the ackee for 5 minutes, then cool and drain.
  2. Cut the cooked ham into small pieces.
  3. In a bowl, mix the ackee, ham, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, black pepper, and salt.
  4. Add the eggs and mix well until you get a homogeneous dough.
  5. Form small balls with the dough and fry in hot oil until they become crispy.
  6. Drain the ackee balls with a spoon and serve hot.
