Welsh Cakes

A sweet Welsh specialty, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, with a hint of cinnamon and chocolate.

Ingredients
- 150 g of flour
- 100 g of butter
- 50 g of sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon of cinnamon powder
- 50 g of cocoa powder
- 1/4 teaspoon of salt
- Cold water as needed for the dough
Method
- Mix the flour, melted butter, sugar, cinnamon, cocoa powder, and salt in a large bowl.
- Add the egg and mix until you get a homogeneous dough.
- Roll the dough out on a work surface and form cylinders about 2 cm in diameter.
- Cut the cylinders into slices about 1 cm thick and fold the slices into a circle.
- Fry the Welsh cakes in a pan with a little oil until they turn golden brown.
- Drain the Welsh cakes on a baking paper and let them cool before serving.

Welsh cakes have a long tradition in Scotland and Wales, where they were prepared for centuries as a convenient small dessert.
