Ingredients

  • 150 g of flour
  • 100 g of butter
  • 50 g of sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon of cinnamon powder
  • 50 g of cocoa powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon of salt
  • Cold water as needed for the dough

Method

  1. Mix the flour, melted butter, sugar, cinnamon, cocoa powder, and salt in a large bowl.
  2. Add the egg and mix until you get a homogeneous dough.
  3. Roll the dough out on a work surface and form cylinders about 2 cm in diameter.
  4. Cut the cylinders into slices about 1 cm thick and fold the slices into a circle.
  5. Fry the Welsh cakes in a pan with a little oil until they turn golden brown.
  6. Drain the Welsh cakes on a baking paper and let them cool before serving.
