Spring Rolls
This traditional Vietnamese dish is a crunchy and fresh delight, perfect for a spring lunch.

Ingredients
- 400g of beef or chicken
- 200g of vermicelli
- 200g of vegetables (carrots, onion, spinach)
- 8-10 banana leaves
- 3-4 lettuce leaves
- 2 onions
- 1 tablespoon of soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon of shaoxing sauce
- 1 teaspoon of chili powder
- 1 teaspoon of sugar
- 1 tablespoon of oil for frying
- Salt to taste
Method
- Prepare the filling: cut the beef or chicken into small pieces, put them in a bowl and add the chopped vegetables, lettuce leaves, sliced onions, soy sauce, shaoxing sauce, chili powder, sugar, and salt. Mix well.
- Moisten the banana leaves with water and stuff them with the prepared filling, wrapping them tightly to form cylinders.
- Make the frying salt: in a bowl, mix the oil and salt well.
- Fry the spring rolls in plenty of hot oil, frequently turning them with a fork to ensure they fry evenly.
- Serve hot with soy sauce or oyster sauce to taste.
