Porto Rabanadas
These delicious Portuguese dessert, rabanadas, are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, perfect for a sweet breakfast.

Ingredients
- 500 g of whole grain bread or soaked bread
- 500 ml of oil for frying
- 100 g of sugar
- 1 lemon
- 1/2 cup of water
- A pinch of cinnamon powder
- 1/2 cup of powdered sugar
- Coffee powder for the final touch
Method
- Cut the bread into thick slices about 2 cm thick.
- In a bowl, mix the sugar, lemon juice, water, and cinnamon.
- Dip the bread slices in the mixture for 2-3 minutes.
- Fry in a large pan with hot oil until golden.
- Drain and dry with paper towels.
- Stack the bread slices in a plate and sprinkle with powdered sugar and coffee powder.
- Serve hot for best results.
