Pirozhki
These sweet pirozhki, filled with ricotta and almonds, are a delightful Russian specialty to savor.

Ingredients
- 250 g of flour
- 100 g of butter
- 1 egg
- 100 ml of milk
- 1 tablespoon of yeast
- 100 g of sugar
- 100 g of ricotta
- 50 g of ground almonds
- 1 teaspoon of cinnamon powder
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla powder
- oil for frying
Method
- In a bowl, mix the flour, yeast, sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla.
- In another bowl, mix the melted butter, egg, milk, and active yeast.
- Combine the flour mixture with the liquid until you get a homogeneous dough.
- Divide the dough into small balls and form pirozhki with your hands.
- In a pan, fry the pirozhki in hot oil until they become golden.
- Drain on paper towels to absorb the oil and serve warm.

Pirozhki have a long history in Russia, where they were prepared for centuries as a way to use up leftover ingredients. Today, they are an important part of Russian culinary tradition.
