Oliebollen
This traditional Belgian sweet is a must during New Year's Eve celebrations, with a crispy exterior and soft interior.

Ingredients
- 250 g of flour
- 125 ml of milk
- 125 ml of oil
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon of baking powder
- 1 teaspoon of sugar
- 1 teaspoon of cinnamon powder
- 1/2 teaspoon of nutmeg powder
- Granulated sugar for decoration
- Cold water for serving
Method
- Mix the flour, baking powder, sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a large bowl.
- In another bowl, mix the milk with the oil and eggs, then gradually add the flour mixture.
- Stir well until you get a homogeneous mixture.
- Let the dough rest for 10-15 minutes.
- Form balls of about 20-25 g with the dough and dip them in cold water for 2-3 seconds.
- Fry the oliebollen in hot oil until they turn golden brown.
- Drain on paper towels and decorate with granulated sugar.
- Serve warm.

Oliebollen originate from the northern regions of Belgium, where they are traditionally prepared during New Year's Eve celebrations as a symbol of good luck.
