Ingredients
- 500 g of pork meat
- 200 g of veal meat
- 1 onion
- 2 garlic cloves
- 1 tablespoon of salt
- 1 tablespoon of black pepper
- 1 tablespoon of nutmeg salt
- 1 tablespoon of cayenne pepper
- 2 tablespoons of olive oil
- 1 liter of cold water
- 1 tablespoon of white wine vinegar
Method
- In a bowl, mix the pork and veal meat with the garlic, olive oil, salt, black pepper, nutmeg salt, and cayenne pepper.
- Chop the onion into cubes and add it to the meat mixture.
- Pour the cold water and white wine vinegar into the bowl and mix well.
- Let the mixture rest for at least 2 hours before forming the sausages.
- Form the sausages using a sausage stuffer or a kitchen tube.
- Fry the sausages in a pan with hot olive oil for about 10-15 minutes, turning them often.
- Serve hot with french fries and a mustard or ketchup sauce.
The story
Nürnberger Bratwurst has a history dating back to the 17th century, originally served as breakfast for workers. Today, it is a symbol of Nuremberg cuisine.
