Nkwobi is a delicious Nigerian dish featuring pig hearts, seasoned with aromatic spices.

Ingredients
- 4 pig hearts
- 2 onions
- 4 skewers of wood
- 1 chili pepper
- 2 tablespoons of palm oil
- 1 tablespoon of groundnut pepper
- 1 tablespoon of fresh ginger
- Salt to taste
- 1 tablespoon of thyme
- 1 teaspoon of bay leaf
- Water for cooking
Method
- Clean the pig hearts and cut them into uniform pieces.
- Slice the onions and finely chop the chili pepper.
- In a pot, heat the palm oil and add the spices, cooking for a few minutes.
- Add the pig hearts and onions, and cook over medium heat for 10-15 minutes.
- Add water, cover, and simmer over low heat for 30-40 minutes.
- Alternatively, you can prepare the nkwobi on a grill, using the wooden skewers.
- Serve hot, accompanied by sweet potatoes and polenta.
