Mango Sticky Rice
A sweet and refreshing dessert that combines the sweet glutinous rice with the juicy mango.

Ingredients
- 300g of glutinous rice
- 1 kg of fresh mango
- 300 ml of water
- 100g of sugar
- 100 ml of coconut milk
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon of coconut oil
- Sugar for garnish
- Banana leaves for garnish
Method
- Wash the glutinous rice and let it drain for 10 minutes.
- In a pot, combine the water, rice, sugar, and coconut milk, bring to a boil, and simmer for 20-25 minutes.
- Transfer the rice to a baking dish and let it cool.
- Cut the mango into cubes.
- In a bowl, mix the mango with coconut milk, sugar, and vanilla extract.
- Arrange the glutinous rice in a serving dish and pour the mango mixture over it.
- Garnish with sugar and banana leaves.
- Serve chilled.
The story
Khao Niao Mamuang is a traditional Thai dessert found in tropical regions where mangos are abundant. It is often enjoyed during the summer to cool the body.
