Ingredients

  • 500 g of chicken pieces
  • 250 g of shrimp
  • 1 onion
  • 2 carrots
  • 2 celery stalks
  • 2 tablespoons of dried peppers
  • 2 tablespoons of red pepper flakes
  • 200 g of rice
  • 2 liters of chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon of red pepper powder
  • 1 tablespoon of bay leaf
  • 1 tablespoon of thyme
  • salt to taste

Method

  1. In a large pan, sauté the onion, carrots, celery, and dried peppers in a bit of oil.
  2. Add the chicken and shrimp, cook until the meat is well done.
  3. Add the rice, stir well to toast it a bit, then add the chicken broth and all the seasonings.
  4. Cook on medium heat for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the rice is al dente.
  5. Turn off the heat and let it rest for 5 minutes before serving.
  6. Season with red pepper powder and bay leaf to taste.
