Ingredients

  • 500g of minced meat (pork, beef, and lamb)
  • 1 tablespoon of grated ginger
  • 2 tablespoons of chili powder
  • 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon of salt
  • 1 tablespoon of black pepper
  • 2 chopped onions
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 1 teaspoon of sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon of cumin

Method

  1. In a bowl, mix the minced meat with ginger, chili powder, apple cider vinegar, olive oil, salt, black pepper, chopped onions, garlic, sugar, and chili powder.
  2. Let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours.
  3. Form the meat into steaks.
  4. Fry or grill the steaks until well cooked.
  5. Serve hot with French fries and a yogurt sauce.

The story

Istanbul kebap has roots in the Arab and Persian worlds but became an authentic Istanbul dish in the 16th century, thanks to the Ottoman Empire.
