Hungarian Beef Stew
A classic of Hungarian cuisine, the beef stew is a hearty and warming dish perfect for cold winter evenings.

Ingredients
- 500 g of beef, cubed
- 2 onions, chopped
- 2 carrots, sliced
- 1 zucchini, sliced
- 2 liters of beef broth
- 200 g of beans
- 100 g of cucumbers, sliced
- 1 tablespoon of red pepper flakes
- 2 mint leaves
- salt and pepper to taste
- olive oil
- 2 cloves of garlic, sliced
Method
- In a large pot, heat half the olive oil and add the beef, cooking over medium heat until it is browned on all sides.
- Remove the beef from the pot and add the onions, carrots, and red pepper flakes, cooking until the onions are translucent.
- Return the beef and garlic to the pot, add the beef broth, zucchini, cucumbers, and mint leaves, stir well.
- Bring to a boil, reduce the heat and let simmer on low heat for about 1 hour or until the beef is tender.
- Add the beans and cook for another 15 minutes or until the beans are al dente.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste, serve hot.
