Ingredients

  • 300 g of potatoes
  • 100 g of turnip tops
  • 2 eggs
  • 50 g of rye flour
  • 1 tablespoon of seed oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon of sugar
  • 1 tablespoon of wine vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon of sour cream

Method

  1. Wash the turnip tops thoroughly and cut them into small pieces. Cook them in salted water for 10 minutes, then cool them under cold water and dry well.
  2. Wash the potatoes and cut them into thin slices. Cook them in salted water for 15 minutes, then cool them and dry well.
  3. In a bowl, mix the potatoes, turnip tops, eggs, rye flour, seed oil, salt, sugar, wine vinegar, and sour cream.
  4. Form small pancakes with the dough obtained and fry them in a hot pan with seed oil.
  5. Serve them hot, accompanied by a sauce of your choice.

Hjortronmacka is a traditional dish from the northern part of Sweden, particularly popular in the Dalarna region. Originally made with local and simple ingredients, it has become a culinary symbol of the area.
