A delicious crunchy and flavorful biscuit, originally from Värmland in Sweden but beloved in Norway too.

Ingredients
- 250g of flour
- 100g of sugar
- 100g of butter
- 2 eggs
- 1 tablespoon of baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- 100g of crushed almonds
- 100g of sesame seeds
- 100g of dark chocolate
- 100g of honey
Method
- In a bowl, mix the flour, sugar, salt, and baking powder.
- In another bowl, beat the eggs, butter, and honey until you get a smooth mixture.
- Gradually add the flour to the egg mixture, stirring until a dough forms.
- Add the sesame seeds and crushed almonds, mixing well.
- Shape the dough into small balls, then flatten slightly.
- Preheat the oven to 180°C and bake the gressknäcke for 15-20 minutes, until golden.
- Let them cool before cutting into pieces and serving.
The story
Gressknäcke has its roots in the Värmland region of Sweden, where it has been traditionally prepared for centuries. In Norway, it has become a true cult, especially during Christmas celebrations.
