Fish and Chips
A classic British dish, crispy and delicious, perfect for a family night in.

Ingredients
- 4 cod pieces
- 200 grams of potato slices
- 1/2 cup of flour
- 1/2 cup of baking powder
- 1/2 cup of cold water
- oil for frying
- salt
- pepper
- garlic powder
- soy sauce (optional)
Method
- Prepare the cod pieces by cutting the sides to make them easier to fry.
- In a bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
- Dip the cod pieces in cold water for 10 minutes, then dry them well.
- Coat the cod pieces in the flour mixture and fry in hot oil until golden.
- For the potatoes, fry in hot oil until they are crispy.
- Serve hot with soy sauce if desired.
The story
Fish and chips originated in the 19th century in England, initially sold by street vendors, and later became a popular weekend treat.
