Detroit Style Pizza is a unique specialty with a thin, flexible crust that bends under the weight of its toppings.

Ingredients
- 1 kg of hard wheat flour
- 700 ml of cold water
- 10 g of brewer's yeast
- 1 tablespoon of salt
- 1 tablespoon of olive oil
- 100 g of mozzarella cheese
- 500 g of marinated tomatoes
- 100 g of prosciutto
- 1 onion
- 2 tablespoons of olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Method
- Mix the flour, yeast, salt, and olive oil in a large bowl. Add the cold water and mix until you get a homogeneous dough.
- Let the dough rise for at least 1 hour at room temperature.
- Peel and dice the onion and prosciutto into small pieces.
- On a baking sheet, drizzle some oil and place the dough in a circular shape.
- Cover the dough with mozzarella, marinated tomatoes, onion, and prosciutto.
- Make a diagonal cut along the pizza to create the flexible crust.
- Preheat the oven to 220°C and bake the pizza for 10-15 minutes or until the crust is golden and the mozzarella is melted.

Detroit Style Pizza originated in the 1950s in Detroit when a pizza maker decided to create a thin, flexible crust to cater to customers who preferred a lighter pizza.
