A traditional Amritsar dish, chole bhature is a delightful combination of fried bread served with a spicy red lentil sauce.

Ingredients
- 200 g of red lentils
- 2 onions
- 2 garlic cloves
- 1 chili
- 250 g of flour
- 250 g of butter
- 250 ml of water
- 2 tablespoons of ground pepper
- Salt to taste
- Oil for frying
- Condiments of your choice
Method
- Rinse the red lentils and cook them in salted water for 30 minutes. Drain and let them cool.
- In a pan, sauté the chili, garlic, and onions in butter.
- Add the red lentils, ground pepper, and salt. Stir well and cook on medium heat for 20-25 minutes.
- In another bowl, mix the flour with water and salt to form a smooth dough.
- Shape small balls of dough and fry them in hot oil until golden brown.
- Serve the chole with warm bhature, accompanied by condiments of your choice.
