A traditional Jutland delicacy, boiled herring prepared in the classic way is a delicious dish to savor.

Ingredients
- 4 herring fillets (karreknætte)
- 2 onions
- 100 ml of rapeseed oil
- 200 g of potatoes
- 200 g of beans
- 100 ml of wine vinegar
- salt and pepper to taste
- 2 garlic cloves
- 100 g of chopped parsley
Method
- Prepare the herring fillets by trimming the edges and removing the skin.
- In a pan, sauté the onions and garlic in rapeseed oil.
- Add cubed potatoes and cook for about 10 minutes.
- Add the herring fillets and beans, cover, and cook for another 10-15 minutes.
- Add the wine vinegar and season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Finally, add the chopped parsley and serve hot.

Karreknætte is a traditional Jutland dish dating back to prehistoric times, when fishing was the main source of food for the locals.
