Beef Stroganoff
A classic Russian dish adapted in the United States, this beef stroganoff is rich, flavorful, and satisfying.

Ingredients
- 500 g of beef tenderloin
- 2 onions
- 2 carrots
- 1 zucchini
- 100 ml of ketchup
- 50 ml of white wine vinegar
- 50 ml of beef broth
- 50 g of mushrooms
- 2 tablespoons of butter
- 2 tablespoons of soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon of black pepper
- 1 tablespoon of salt
Method
- Cut the beef tenderloin into 2x2 cm pieces, the onions and mushrooms into thin slices.
- In a pan, melt the butter over medium-high heat and add the onions and mushrooms, cooking until they become golden brown.
- Add the carrots and zucchini, cook for another 5 minutes.
- Add the ketchup, white wine vinegar, beef broth, salt, and pepper, stir well.
- Add the beef, cook for another 5-7 minutes or until the beef is fully cooked.
- Finally, add the soy sauce and stir well.
- Serve hot with sour cream if desired.
The story
Beef stroganoff originated in Russia in the 1940s but became popular in the United States in the 1960s, where it was adapted to local tastes.
