Ingredients

  • 200 g of beef
  • 200 g of pork
  • 2 potatoes
  • 1 melon
  • 1 onion
  • 1 chili pepper
  • 2 eggs
  • 100 g of sweet potato slices
  • 100 g of chicken slices
  • 100 g of veal slices
  • 100 g of pork slices
  • 100 g of beef slices

Method

  1. Slice the meat thinly and set aside.
  2. Wash the potatoes and slice them. Peel and cube the onion.
  3. Fry the meat in a pan with a bit of oil, adding the onion.
  4. Slice the melon and set it aside.
  5. Fry the sweet potato slices in a separate pan.
  6. Fry the chicken, veal, and pork slices in a separate pan.
  7. Beat the eggs in a bowl.
  8. Fry the eggs in a separate pan.
  9. Arrange the dish by first placing the meat slices, then the potatoes, melon, eggs, sweet potato slices, chicken, veal, and pork slices.

Bandeja Paisa originates from the city of Medellín, Colombia, where agricultural and mining workers needed a hearty meal to satisfy their hunger after a hard day's work.
