Ingredients

  • 4 ripe bananas
  • 100 g cane sugar
  • 200 ml banana cream
  • 100 g butter
  • 100 ml rum
  • 100 g honey syrup
  • 100 g chopped nuts
  • 100 g chocolate

Method

  1. Prepare a non-stick pan and melt the butter and cane sugar in it.
  2. Halve the bananas and add them to the pan with the butter and cane sugar, cooking for about 5 minutes.
  3. In a bowl, mix the banana cream, rum, and honey syrup.
  4. Pour the banana cream over the fruit and add a bit of chopped nuts.
  5. Bring to high heat and ignite the pan with a lighter. Carefully manage the flame to avoid burning the dessert.
  6. In a warm plate, place a portion of banana and pour the caramelized banana cream over it. Sprinkle with melted chocolate.
  7. Serve immediately.

The story

Bananas Foster was born in the 1950s at the Café du Monde in New Orleans, when a chef decided to create something surprising for the customers.
