Bananas Foster

The classic New Orleans dessert that arrives at the table with a fiery touch.

Ingredients
- 4 ripe bananas
- 100 g cane sugar
- 200 ml banana cream
- 100 g butter
- 100 ml rum
- 100 g honey syrup
- 100 g chopped nuts
- 100 g chocolate
Method
- Prepare a non-stick pan and melt the butter and cane sugar in it.
- Halve the bananas and add them to the pan with the butter and cane sugar, cooking for about 5 minutes.
- In a bowl, mix the banana cream, rum, and honey syrup.
- Pour the banana cream over the fruit and add a bit of chopped nuts.
- Bring to high heat and ignite the pan with a lighter. Carefully manage the flame to avoid burning the dessert.
- In a warm plate, place a portion of banana and pour the caramelized banana cream over it. Sprinkle with melted chocolate.
- Serve immediately.
The story
Bananas Foster was born in the 1950s at the Café du Monde in New Orleans, when a chef decided to create something surprising for the customers.
