Ingredients

  • 200 g of Bakeapples
  • 50 g of sugar
  • 50 g of butter
  • 1 tablespoon of caster sugar
  • 1 tablespoon of water
  • 1 tablespoon of lemon juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon of nutmeg powder
  • 100 g of icing sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon of rum
  • 1 tablespoon of water

Method

  1. Clean the Bakeapples thoroughly and slice them thinly.
  2. In a pan, mix the butter, sugar, water, and lemon juice.
  3. Add the Bakeapple slices and cook over medium heat for about 10 minutes, until they are soft.
  4. In another pan, mix the icing sugar, egg, rum, and water.
  5. Add the Bakeapple slices and cook for another 5-7 minutes, until the compote is thick and crunchy.
  6. Arrange the Bakeapple slices on a plate and sprinkle with icing sugar and cinnamon powder.
  7. Let it cool and serve as a dessert.
