Ingredients

  • 1 kg of small fish (such as sprat or herring)
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 1 onion
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 1 liter of milk
  • 100 g of butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon of chopped onion
  • 1 tablespoon of chopped garlic
  • 100 g of flour
  • Water for heating

Method

  1. Clean and cut the small fish into small pieces.
  2. In a pan, heat the oil and sauté the garlic and onion.
  3. Add the fish pieces and cook for 5-7 minutes.
  4. Pour in the milk and water, add salt and pepper, and let it boil for 10-15 minutes.
  5. In a bowl, mix the butter with the flour to form a béchamel sauce.
  6. Add the béchamel sauce to the fish broth, stirring well.
  7. Boil for 5-10 minutes until the sauce is thick and creamy.
  8. Serve hot, garnished with chopped onion and garlic.
