Arak
An eastern digestif made from citrus, best served chilled with water and ice.

Ingredients
- 200 ml of arak alcohol
- 1 lemon
- 1 yellow lemon
- 1 tablespoon of cane sugar
- ice
- water
- 1-2 spritz of fresh mint (optional)
Method
- Carefully clean the lemons and slice them thinly.
- In a glass, mix the arak alcohol, cane sugar, and lemon slices.
- Add cold water and stir well.
- Fill the glass with ice.
- If desired, add spritz of fresh mint for decoration.
- Serve cold.
The story
Arak is a traditional Levantine drink with roots dating back to Roman times, but it has become particularly popular in Lebanon and Syria.
